Whether it was the scarcity of prey in the wintertime or not, the foxes seemed extra feisty with each other in the very cold weather. One of their more intriguing performances was to stand on their hind legs, front paws touching the other's front paws, jaws agape and chatter and snarl at each other for anywhere from half-a-minute to a minute. This could be followed by a violent tussle, or with one of them crouching submissively or just turning and walking away from each other as if nothing had happened.
